Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and skilled individual to join our team as an Invasive Plant Species and Ecosystem Restoration Specialist. This position plays a crucial role in our efforts to restore native habitats by managing invasive plant species without the use of pesticides. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in invasive species management, native plant species, and/or natural resource management, coupled with a passion for conservation and ecological restoration.
Location: Work to be performed throughout Connecticut
Position Type: Part time, up to 40 hours a week (contract dependent)
Key Responsibilities:
This position will require regular travel throughout Connecticut and, on rare occasions, overnight travel may be offered.

Schedule: Duties will typically be carried out Monday - Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. but work hours will vary due to available contracts. Weekly totals should not exceed 40 hours. A flexible work schedule may be required, which, in rare occasions, could involve work performed outside of normal work hours including on weekends
Environmental Conditions/Hazards:
The Swamp Yankee Earthcare crew may encounter environmental conditions/hazards including extreme heat or cold, rocky terrain, biting insects, high humidity, and potentially dangerous wildlife. The crew is expected to conduct duties in a safe and orderly manner so as not to endanger self, fellow crew members, volunteers, or resources and tools. Duties are performed outdoors. Temperature and weather extremes can be encountered in the performance of outdoor duties.
